67 Asian Countries to be invited to Expo 2016 Antalya

General Secretary of Asian Mayors Forum Mohammad Khodadadi visited EXPO 2016 Antalya Exhibition Area and gathered information about the project. Khodadadi stated that EXPO 2016 will be a major organization that will contribute to peace and told that he will encourage 67 forum member Asian cities to participate in EXPO 2016. Khodadadi, told that he believes the EXPO 2016 Antalya will make a significant contribution to the peace which the world is in need of and added, "If the cities we have mentioned participate in EXPO 2016, they will not only bring their flowers and plant but their cultures too".

Tower of Expo 2016 Antalya...

We know that the work of the Tower, the symbol of Expo 2016 antalya is underway and ahead quite well. Here is a 3D animation that shows the construction of this tower, which will be the very beautiful emblem of this Expo 2016 !

The 114-meter tall Expo Tower will be one of the most captivating structures of the Expo Antalya 2016 which opens to the public in April 2016. This unique structure is being built utilizing several innovative systems, including the heavy lifting of the top tower structure allowing the project to be completed on a fast track schedule. We have engaged several international consultants in the planning of this important Tower.

The ground floor bazaars and structures consist of 20,000 m² interior spaces and there are 30,500 m² open areas for the millions of Expo visitors to enjoy. The upper floors will house a restaurant and outdoor terraces. The Expo Tower will offer amenities such as a grand bazaar, a variety of shops and a dining area with the capacity to accommodate 500 people.

Senegal to improve its trade relations in Expo 2016 Antalya

Western Africa country, Senegal, signed the EXPO 2016 participation agreement. Senegal Country Commissar Malick Diop highlighted that one of the main objectives of EXPOs are to improve economic and trade relations between countries and added "We would like to organize economic forums by gathering Senegalese and Turkish businessmen together during 6 months that EXPO will remain open".  Diop and General Secretary of EXPO 2016 Antalya Agency signed the participation agreement together.

EXPO Consultant of AIPH Stimac: "EXPO 2016 will be unique with its many features"

International Horticultural Exhibition Curators Guide Author of International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), German Sven Stimac, pointed that Turkey's first EXPO Project is unique in terms of its construction works and quality, and told that many structures that are not much seen in EXPOs are present here. Stimac: "Elements such as Agriculture and Bio-diversity Museum, Turkey Bio-diversity Theme Course are structures that we are not used to see in general botanic EXPOs. These are what makes EXPO 2016 distinctive from other botanic EXPOs".

Expo 2016 area will blossom ith "Peony"

In Exhibition Area of EXPO 2016 Antalya to be opened with "Flower and Child" theme on 23rd of April next year, planting and flowering works are ongoing as well as construction works. Symbol flower of EXPO 2016 Antalya, peony flowers, are being planted on various locations of the exhibition area of 121,000 decares, including the EXPO Hill. Two thousand peonies were planted in the first phase of the works. Four thousand peonies will be planted in total. Peonies will welcome the visitors when the EXPO 2016 opens its gates on April next year.

What about Turkish Cuisine at Expo 2016 Antalya ?

Turkish Cuisine in the Restaurant Street of the Expo !!

Turkish cuisine is also given an important place in EXPO 2016 to be opened on 23 April 2016 with "Flower and Child" theme. Works at 'Restaurants Street' constructed near the EXPO Lake will be completed soon. Restaurants Street, representing architectural features of 7 geographical regions of Turkey :
  1. Istanbul waterside residence,
  2. Antalya House,
  3. Bodrum House for Aegean Region,
  4. Diyarbakır House for Southeast Anatolia Region,
  5. Erzurum House for Eastern Anatolia Region,
  6. Konya House for Central Anatolia Region 
  7. Trabzon House for Black Sea Region.

In these restaurants, which are true to their original architectures and built using materials bearing typical structural properties of the corresponding region, menus will also consist of regional cuisine culture and tastes.

Living Plant Sculptures of EXPO 2016 on Canadian press

Living Plant Sculptures to be located on an area of 15 acres at the Exhibition Area of EXPO 2016 Antalya had a press coverage in Canada. In the article of “Le Journal de Montréal” Newspaper published in the State of Québec, plant sculptures to be displayed at the exhibition area were defined as “magnificent and spectacular”. The article also stated that the most magnificent work would be the Asian woman figure surrounded by silk worms on the branches of a mulberry tree with the following words: “This magnificent work symbolized the Silk Road and will surely be breathtaking. The work will also display animal figures reminding the groups carrying loads on the historical Silk Road. Another central piece to be designed by MIM will be a mammoth that is 7 meters tall”.

After BIE, AIPH also appreciated !

General Secretary of International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) Tim Briercliffe, highlighted that the EXPO 2016 Antalya's progress is promising and added, "It is very good to hear that many countries will participate". Also Osman Bağdatlıoğlu, AIPH Board of Directors member and EXPO 2016 Antalya inspector, pointed that works are very well performed. Kazım Aydın, General Secretary of EXPO 2016 Antalya, accompanied the delegation and told that the works conducted in such a short amount of time earned the appreciation of AIPH.

Children of the World coming together at Expo 2016 Antalya

TRT General Manager Göka, visited EXPO 2016 Antalya Exhibition Area and planted a 200 years old olive tree with General Secretary Kazım Aydın. Göka, declared that the 38th TRT International Children's Festival will be organized at EXPO 2016 Antalya exhibition area next year.

Venezuela participates at Expo 2016 Antalya

Latin America country Venezuela will participate in Turkey's first EXPO, EXPO 2016 Antalya which will open its gates next year on 23 April with 'Flower and Child' theme. Ankara Ambassador of Venezuela, Jose Gregorio Bracho Reyes visited the area and gathered information about the project. Reyes stated that his country will participate in EXPO 2016 Antalya project and told that "EXPO 2016 is a project highlighting the necessity to realize that a green world must be sustained."

First digging of Expo 2016 is from Nepal

Nepal was the first to dig for country gardens in Turkey's first EXPO, EXPO 2016 Antalya. After the first digging in company with a ceremony representing our respect for Nature, works are commenced in Nepal's 3,600 square-meter garden. Nepal Project Coordinator Binayak Shah told that they aim to reflect Nepal's culture and architecture in the best possible way and added, "This place will be a very special area for visitors".

The largest garden of China in EXPO 2016

Participation agreement between China, which has decided to attend the first EXPO of Turkey, and EXPO 2016 was signed in Beijing. Jiang Zehui, Chairman of Chine Flower Association, and Ambassador Erdoğan Kök, General Commissioner of Antalya, were the ones signing the agreement. Zehui explained their great interest in the first EXPO of Turkey and said: “Our garden requiring a space of 3,150 square meters will be the largest Chinese garden ever displayed at a gardening exhibition outside China.”

Qatar will be at Expo 2016 Antalya

Qatar, one of the Gulf Countries will take part in EXPO 2016 with its saharan plants and hawks. Stating that EXPO 2016 Antalya project is a great and beautiful project, Muhammed Ali Al-Khoori, the State Commissioner of Qatar, added that they are very pleased to take part in EXPO’da. Indicating their desire to make a successful and beautiful contribution on behalf of Qatar, Al-Khoori continued: “We will try to bring our own plants, trees, hawks, special Qatar coffee, food and culture to this area.”

Netherlands will join the Expo 2016 Antalya

Netherlands Ambassador Kees van Javier announced that will participate in the EXPO 2016 Antalya. Ambassador Javier, with a rich cultural activity program for the duration of the EXPO and EXPO will take place in 2016, he said.

Speaking at the opening of the fair, Netherlands Growtech Ambassador Kees van Javier, Netherlands in EXPO with the theme of "green city" by 2016 to Antalya, he said he was going to join. 
Ambassador Javier, 6 months will set up in the exhibition area of Antalya EXPO 2016 country garden and will exhibit their botanical culture of the country and culture, and organize cultural activities in the area, he said. Ambassador van Javier, also ornamental plants during the bilateral talks, said they planned their representatives stated that they believe the very productive and useful.

Growtech Fair was followed by the opening of the EXPO 2016 Ambassador Kees who visited Antalya stand van Javier, virtual reality glasses and inspected the EXPO 2016 Antalya area expressed appreciation about the project.
