1.5 million trailing flowers to be planted in EXPO 2016 Area
As tree planting work comes to an end at the EXPO 2016 Exhibition Area, which is preparing to open its gates on 23 April, planting of ground covering flowers has begun. By the opening day 1.5 million trailing flowers will have been planted.
Already, 24,560 trees and 124,474 shrubs have been planted on the 112-hectare EXPO 2016 Exhibition Area located in Aksu and a further 350,000 square meters have been seeded. The plantation of ground covering flowers is ongoing. By opening day, 1.5 million trailing flowers and about 5 million seasonal flowers will have been planted.
