Expo 2016 Antalya has highest participation after Osaka...
As countdown to the opening of EXPO 2016 Antalya has started, the number of countries having signed the participation agreements reached 51. According to International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) data, EXPO 2016 Antalya will become the A-1 category EXPO with the highest participation after the Osaka botanic EXPO organized in 1990 in Asia.
EXPO 2016 Antalya will open its gates on the evening of April 22nd in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and attendance is increasing day by day. The countries that have agreed to participate are:
Sudan, South Korea, Pakistan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Kenya, Yemen, Nepal, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, China, Japan, Guinea, Senegal, Niger, Palestine, Bangladesh, Kosovo, Qatar, Madagascar, Netherlands, Burundi, Eritrea, Union of Comoros, Zimbabwe, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Benin, England, Ghana, Hungary, Italy, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Uganda, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Ethiopia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Ukraine, The Republic of South Africa, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Germany, Serbia, Bulgaria.
Unofficial participants at EXPO 2016 Antalya are Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and Russian Cultural Association.
Kazım Aydın, General Secretary of the EXPO 2016 Antalya Agency, highlighted the considerable attention with regards to country participation in EXPO 2016 Antalya and said “It is gratifying to have such a high number of countries participating”.
Aydın pointed that the countries will enrich EXPO 2016 Antalya and stated that participants will make a permanent promotional investment by having the opportunity to reach millions of people from different countries through their gardens in EXPO 2016 Antalya.
HIGHEST PARTICIPATION IN OSAKA, 1990
According to the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) data, the highest participation in the history of A-1 category botanic EXPOs was achieved in Osaka, where 78 countries participated in 1990.
